I’m Vanessa Van Meerhaeghe, a visual artist based in Belgium, exploring bold, colorful, and intimate compositions that reflect my passion for storytelling. My journey began in the world of fashion design, where I spent 20 years designing collections, curating color palettes, and creating concepts for women’s fashion. Today, the love for vibrant hues, patterns, and storytelling that I cultivated during those years finds a new home in my paintings, blending playful and introspective themes into dynamic works.

ARTISTIC APPROACH

My work focuses on the female form, exploring its complexity through bold compositions, striking contrasts, and intricate patterns. I explore themes of identity and empowerment, often adding moments of humor and accessibility to create a connection with the viewer. Each piece reflects the tension between intimacy and abstraction, reality and interpretation.

With a background in fashion, I bring a love of color, structure, and texture into my paintings. Patterns and details add depth to my work, while my process balances playfulness with a sense of strength and vulnerability.
