L'origine
L’Origine brings together Stefanie Lisabeth, Iryna Maksymova and Vanessa Van Meerhaeghe, three artists approaching the female body, identity and experience from distinct perspectives.
The title nods to Courbet’s L’Origine du monde and to the idea of woman as origin — as a starting point rather than a fixed definition. From there, each artist takes a different direction, moving between the intimate and the abstract, the physical and the associative, with room for sensuality, playfulness and interpretation.
For the exhibition, I present a new series of paintings alongside, for the first time, a small series of ceramic sculptures.
