This series started almost by accident. I was painting small studies of places I’d travelled to—drawn to the colours, the light, the rhythm of things. What began as a side project turned into a body of work of its own. These are quiet, observational paintings, made before I turned my full attention to the women who now populate my canvases. A different tone, but the same eyes behind it.
